Professor Ayman Suleiman Fareed Hussein Raddad; a life translated into words:
Professor Ayman Suleiman Farid Raddad, or “Ayman Hussein”, was born in the village of Saida, Tulkarm district in the year 1965 . He belonged to a deep rooted, self-made family of eight brothers and three sisters. The family pursued the path of science, trained for giving not receiving, and sacrificed two of their finest sons, between a martyr and a prisoner in the occupation prisons. Ayman Raddad is the second brother in the family who holds the third title / doctorate, studied elementary and secondary levels both in the schools of his village and schools in the neighboring villages in Tulkarm Governorate.
In the period of (1984-1990) he obtained the first and second degrees in biochemistry with honors from the University of Science and Technology and Yarmouk University, respectively, in the city of Irbid / Jordan, and as a result of his academic excellence he received a grant from the German Foundation for Cultural Exchange (DAAD) to study at the University Hamburg, Germany where he obtained his third title / PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Then, he moved to work at the Imperial College at the University of London / Britain, where he resided and obtained dual citizenship (Palestinian – British) to begin his research and academic career in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology, and during his stay in Britain he worked to establish an Arab Association for Arab Researchers in 1998
Professor Ayman Hussein has more than twenty published research papers in specialized international scientific journals that gave him various prizes for his research contribution. The most important of which was the Award presented to him in 2017 by the President of the state of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas. This prize was presented to the thirty most influential Palestinian figures in Palestine.
Moreover, because of his love for his country and his belief in the importance of transferring the knowledge and scientific and technical expertise that he acquired during his stay in Europe and as part of paying off his nation’s debt, he returned to Palestine to share his experience. His first dream on the path of transferring this experience was achieved by establishing the first laboratory in genetics and molecular biology at An-Najah National University in Nablus.
In a successful attempt of pairing between the national capital and the academic effort, a way was paved towards establishing the first project concerned with providing molecular genetics laboratory testing services, as the idea began to materialize, the first branch was opened in the city of Nablus in 2011, several branches then followed in Ramallah and Hebron, later, the company was called the European Center for Medical Analysis, as it became one of the most important laboratory centers in Palestine.
Fate did not give him long to complete his ambitious project to establish a stem cell bank since he passed away as a result of his struggle with cancer on the 28th of January 2019
Professor Ayman Suleiman Fareed Raddad left a wife and three children behind (Yahya, Ahmed and Jinan).
